Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data is processed when you visit this website and, where relevant, when you use Melöff Terminal. In short: no account, no tracking cookies, no analytics, no advertising.
1. Who is responsible
The data controller is [to be completed once the company is registered]. For any question about your data, write to [to be completed once the company is registered]. Full publisher details are in the Legal notice.
2. What this website processes
Server logs
Like any website, the server that delivers these pages receives technical information with each request: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, your browser’s user agent and the referring page. This is used only to deliver the site, keep it secure and diagnose errors. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website. Retention: [to be completed once the company is registered].
Preferences stored in your browser
The site does not set cookies. It keeps a few values in your browser’s local storage so that it behaves the way you left it. They never leave your device and you can delete them at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings:
- meloff.booted — the intro animation has been shown (it then plays only on your first visit);
- meloff.sound and meloff.motion — your interface sound and motion settings;
- meloff.q.fx and meloff.q.crypto — a short-lived copy (up to 30 minutes) of the public market quotes shown in the status bar, so they are not downloaded again on every page view.
These are strictly necessary for features you use, so no consent banner is required. No information is stored for advertising, profiling or audience measurement.
Public market data requested by your browser
On wide screens, the status bar shows live quotes. To get them, your browser contacts two public services directly: Frankfurter (api.frankfurter.dev, for European Central Bank reference rates) and Coinbase (api.exchange.coinbase.com, for public crypto prices). As with any web request, these services receive your IP address and browser information; no other data is sent. Their own privacy policies apply to what they receive.
What we do not do
- no analytics, heat maps or session recording;
- no advertising or social-media trackers;
- no forms, newsletters or accounts on this website;
- no sale or sharing of personal data.
Fonts, images and videos are served from this website, not from third-party CDNs.
3. Melöff Terminal
When you open the terminal (a separate application linked from this site):
- access may be protected by a password; the session is kept in a cookie that is strictly necessary to keep you signed in;
- your watchlists, portfolio, notes and settings are stored in your own browser; if you turn on synchronisation, a copy is stored on the terminal’s server so it can be restored on your other devices;
- market data screens are loaded from public sources, and some live screens (crypto order books) connect your browser directly to public exchange data streams, which then receive your IP address;
- if the ASKB plain-language search is configured with an AI provider, the text of your question is sent to that provider (Anthropic) to suggest screens; no market data or account data is sent with it.
[to be completed once the company is registered].
4. Transfers outside your country
The services named above may process data outside the European Economic Area (for example in the United States). Where this happens, it is covered by their own safeguards, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision. [to be completed once the company is registered].
5. Your rights
Under the GDPR and similar laws you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, object to or restrict its processing, and receive a copy of it. Write to [to be completed once the company is registered]; we answer within one month. You can also complain to your data-protection authority (in France, the CNIL — cnil.fr).
6. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date.
